As a fan of college sports I don’t judge my enjoyment or what “matters” on national perception or how much money it generates. Going to the college World Series is a lifetime badge of honor for USM that many P5 money programs have yet to achieve. I also grew up in Raleigh in the early/mid 80’s, the Mecca of college basketball and they barely cared about football so it really has zero to do with how much money a sport makes or a national view. It’s all about the fans view/regional perception and what they care about. Today, we are a baseball school and have a past tradition of a football program. We have never and will never be a basketball school, same for all the Mississippi basketball programs for that matter. Just like NC State or the state of North Carolina will never be a college football power.

Be great at what you know and invest in that discipline. Football can be decent again but never at the clip/level of the 80’s and 90’s because money won’t allow it. At some point, money will destroy baseball as well so enjoy it as much as you can right now.

And for the love of all that is holy please stop with how many points Tulane is averaging.....they put 66 on our terrible defense which is padding those numbers. At the end of the day, this is what you just pulled in after 3 months....

the fact our legs tire quicker than most due to lack of talent/personnel/playing sloppy man/zone w/o anything having anything close resembling a solid PG is a fundamental that will one day generate W's????

do you realize how poorly they played with overconfidence in the 1st half....it was play ground hoops in their mind....they shot and executed like dogshite.....I'm certain they ran steps and lines all day long today....

what I've found slightly amusing is our full court press has been quite effective at times.....that one I'll give credit to Jay & sons...unfortunately, we don't have the bench presence to do that effectively over the course of the game....

once again, please explain o' zen background master why we didn't immediately foul after LD buried the trey to pull within 4 with less than a min. to go.....

that by itself showed a lack of in-game corching presence....

also, nice bucket driving the floor as TT was walking off to make the score look a tad closer....

that's a discipline issue...

They go to foul line more because they have better athletes and we foul them trying to stop put backs and penetration . Why do they get put backs and penetration ? Because they have better athletes than we do . We also foul because we are USUALLY undersized or facing better athletes in one on one defensive situations . There are other reasons but not sure where discipline figures into that equation .
