What happened to Alverez?
We so desperately need a competent OC. I hope Will is not Bower headstrong. He seems to be the right guy. He just needs a better offensive game plan and more imaginative play calling. No reason to be so bad with 1st and goal inside the 10. Is Art Briles still around?
And there goes my prediction.
What’s the black les paul Stink?
Turnovers will be the decisive stat. We win TO margin we win the game.
People act like this is surprising.
If y’all think little ole Southern Miss is gonna be allowed to carry on in the activities enjoyed by our northern big brothers, you have got your example now. We are the redheaded step child and we are being reminded of as much.
This was a ‘growing up’ win for sure. Coming from behind and playing hard when it honestly looked bleak is great for this young team. Hopefully the rest of the year will be more fun. Even with the frustration I’m sure is coming along with it. Light at the end of the tunnel.
At least the space between them and us is greater than the space between us and Miami.
My dog stuck his nose to the electric fence I put up to keep him from digging under the fence. Now he keeps a healthy distance from anything that looks like a wire.

USM 31 LU 28. In my world hope springs eternal.
So which one of….us…..will it be?
With the city of Jackson seeing an economic boom of $30 million and attendance averaging 42,000 when will the “leaders” of USM take note? The lack of foresight and understanding of what successful athletic programs can do to a local economy and a university is bordering on malfeasance. We are past needing new leadership at the top at USM.
As a fan of college sports I don’t judge my enjoyment or what “matters” on national perception or how much money it generates. Going to the college World Series is a lifetime badge of honor for USM that many P5 money programs have yet to achieve. I also grew up in Raleigh in the early/mid 80’s, the Mecca of college basketball and they barely cared about football so it really has zero to do with how much money a sport makes or a national view. It’s all about the fans view/regional perception and what they care about. Today, we are a baseball school and have a past tradition of a football program. We have never and will never be a basketball school, same for all the Mississippi basketball programs for that matter. Just like NC State or the state of North Carolina will never be a college football power.
Be great at what you know and invest in that discipline. Football can be decent again but never at the clip/level of the 80’s and 90’s because money won’t allow it. At some point, money will destroy baseball as well so enjoy it as much as you can right now.
Have you seen our sister institution’s baseball facilities?
It will happen faster than you think.
Last CUSA football game…….just give it a bit for the lawyers to dot a few i’s and cross a few t’s…….
It looked like they tried to power wash ‘CUSA’ off the turf. The power washers must be worn out. We need new ones….
You prematurely counted that extra point which is never a given with this team
Yeah you John Cox’d it.
A little early but………..I can’t believe we are about to lose to a one win FIU team……..
Thank you John….
We are still under the, “he’s one of us” umbrella for Coach Ladner, correct? I ask because we are about to lose to 1-3 Lamar at home and I’m not exactly sure where Lamar is located.
Can you ‘John Cox’ a few more? Seems to be our best shot at winning…..
Grambling W
East Grambling W
Tallulah next week for the 2A title
Raise and extension
We are great among our peers….
Got to give ‘‘em credit for not quitting. Could it be a rerun of Monken’s first win against UAB? Aw, probably not but takes a little sting out of the year.
As an aside, too bad we will not be playing them every year now. This series was beginning to get that Louisville feeling. Full moon and all. Some crazy games in this series just like the old days. Oh well…..
admin wrote:Well that was depressing.
But not surprising….
Oh but it was!
Remember the Alamo………………dome
We will feel like Santa Anna at San Jacinto.
The ole first year coach gonna be the offensive coordinator thingy….
