10 years ago today....

The greatest day in Southern Miss history is a decade old. The great Herbert Lawrence Fedora was named the head football coach at the University of Southern Mississippi. What a thrilling day it was. Time to build the statue.

Fedora was truly a mastermind on how to engage a downtrodden, depressed fanbase. I've never seen anyone pump up the fans like L-Fed did during his time on Hardy Street.

"Southern Miss football, I believe we should and will compete for conference championships every year. I believe we should go bowling every year. I believe that each and every player should have an opportunity to earn a degree, and we will make that happen. I believe the flagship university in the state of Mississippi resides in Hattiesburg. I believe we can make the nation recognize that there's a force to be reckoned with at Southern Miss."

Best coach we had in years in every way.   Still love the guy.  He had one bad year at UNC....I bet he turns it around though.  Wish he was still here.
