Sen. Jeff Flake

Not the most reliable at following the Republican party line, but Flake has come out today and said he'll vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh. This is probably a good indication that the Republicans may be able to ram Kavanaugh's confirmation through in spite of all the pushback and scandal-mongering.

Heard that earlier.  He is 'flakier' than McCain's sorry ass was so we will have to wait and see.

Re: Sen. Jeff Flake

Yeah, Flake voted to move the nomination to the whole Senate, and then said he wouldn't vote to finally confirm without an FBI investigation. Pretty dastardly way of keeping his word in a technical sense, while screwing over the rest of his party.

Do the Democrats ever let such traitors make their way into elected office? I'm having a hard time thinking of an example. People point to Joe Lieberman as a moderate or independent Democrat, but that dude would be grandstanding against Kavanaugh if he were still around, for sure.

Re: Sen. Jeff Flake

I don't believe he won't vote yes if McConnell doesn't approve the capped FBI investigation. I believe he just told his friend on the other side of the aisle that he will request it, knowing that its outside of his control.
It appears that the Sexual Assault Prosecutor, Mitchell, met with the Republicans on the committee late last night and told them that Fords testimony would never, ever make it to the courtroom and that it has a tremendous amounts of gaps in her account. That was enough to move Flake to a yes vote.

Kavanaugh didn’t do it, he coaches girls basketball for God’s sake. You think those mamas would let a rapist coach those little girls? Don’t think so. Him being a Catholic makes me uneasy but I think he overturns Roe, abolishes organized labor and brings back the flag. Thank God McCain went bye-bye.

Re: Sen. Jeff Flake

You think the FBI is going to uncover something on Kavanaugh that predates the 6 prior FBI investigations and shows that the Bureau is incompetent?

They do that and it opens up and creates doubt on every single background check ever conducted by the FBI for all.....

Re: Sen. Jeff Flake

Amazing that her tales of Dopamine and the Hippocampus didn't resonate with that gaggle of 90 IQ point lawyers we call a senate. I pretty much figured she was toast when she started with that crap.

Re: Sen. Jeff Flake

The Republican Party is as unified right now as I've seen in my lifetime. If someone had told me a couple of years ago that we'd have Lindsay Graham, Trump, Susan Collins, and Michael Savage all rowing in the same direction, and the Bush / Clinton cabal watching from the cheap seats, I would certainly have doubted his sanity.
