Well let’s not forget we had ESPN on campus back in 1993 for the season opener.......

It was just like College Gameday......I even met Dr Jerry Punch that week

Yeah, but think what those schools must be spending on travel... and coaches... and on generally being a university that's worth a damn and sharing that fact with the world.

It's just not worth it, man!

ESPN was on-campus for a Friday night Louisville game 2002. I almost knocked Lee Corso over trying to get to my seat.

Re: For those who do NOT need another reminder of how far we've fallen...

Listening to PJ Fleck on 680 The Fan pitching the possibility of College Gameday for the Minnesota v Penn State. I followed him since he took Western Michigan to the Cotton Bowl before landing the Gopher job. He also had a show on ESPN for a season that was a decent look into D1 college football.

He is the kind of personality Southern Miss needs. He is outgoing, vocal and probably one of the best motivators out there. Not saying Scotty Walden is the next head ball coach but he has that same style. Doesn't matter if its a defensive player coming off after a big play Walden is always first coach there to congratulate a player coming back to the sideline. We need someone promoting our brand that also delivers on the field. Even Monken had that fire during the game and definitely post game......I know Fedora was labeled a cheerleader but damn, we need someone that has our back and wants to be our biggest voice. This is a big part of why we are dying. Program needs a shot of energy from the top.

The Minnesota team slogan this season is revival. PJ Fleck said it perfectly. He isn't doing something that hasn't been done at Minnesota before. He is just bringing it back.

A cheerleader is *exactly* the kind of person USM needs.

Cheerleaders don't "monitor the sitchy-ation."

we need someone that doesn't play soccer in pads... someone that can get the pad level correct, someone that can do it the 'right way'.... football is football
