Fooseball Receuiting

17 committed - eligible for 25 and up to 7 transfers total 32.  3 O-line committed.
247 has us ranked #2 but number of commitments play large part.  Going by average star rating we’re 12th in CUSA

Is it safe to assume Hall is about to go full blown transfer portal to fill the roster?  Can’t say I blame him

didn’t Hall claim this recruiting class would be top g5

Educate me please

Doesn't really matter as most of these guys will never play meaningful minutes in a CUSA game. Unfortunately, it also looks to in the bottom half of the Sunbelt average rankings.

Best recruiting class since Red Bull…….and he had some really good classes. He signs Myles the Tiger he automatically has the preseason CUSA or Belt first team QB……

BDR in 3…..2……..1

so ~21 signed?... mix of juco, portal and high school.... it was once said he could sign ~32 somehow...is he going to focus on the portal the rest of the silly season?

also hired a OL/OC coach that i missed....is he a wing-T expert?

Re: Fooseball Receuiting

Portal to fill the rest of the open spots over the next 3-4 weeks following the bowl games. New OC arguably had a terrible season at Liberty as the OL coach this year but he and Will are friends so that’s what’s really important.

IMO, biggest news today was our next head ball coach getting hired at Auburn as OC. It will be one and done for him unfortunately because Harsin will be pushed out next year but it’s good experience for when Austin takes over at Southern Miss in 2024.

Re: Fooseball Receuiting

Looks like a pretty good class. I counted 6 JUCOs. That plus a couple transfers and maybe we'll show some real improvement next season.

Sounds like Lowe is done at QB but is welcome to play another position. Per Hall the QB competition is between the last two MS top rated QB’s and an experienced QB from the portal to be named later.

The #1 WR from JUCO was a nice addition. It’s hard not to see Halls plan coming together that will probably equate to 6 wins in 22 but the biggest gain next season will be the experience and trust building on the field. Y3 in 2023 is probably the right expectation. Turning into Monken 2.0 right in front of our eyes.

Re: Fooseball Receuiting

Looking at the recruiting rankings the mystery to me is always Marshall. They continue to pull in top 50 classes but it doesn’t translate to the next step on the field consistently. They lose to ECU and MYSU this season and get blown out by WKU. Should have been at least a 9 win team. Last year they start 7-0 and then get blown away by Rice. That program is so close to being great. Chad Penningtons son just signed with them. Talk about feeling old now…..

yeah … he changed my mind when he went wildcat behind center … regardless, plus lack of talent, that was more than ‘desperate coaching’

I see a ‘golden’ opportunity betting ON the mighty Phoenix buzzards next season…

1-3 vs. NonCons

5-3 vs SUNWACUSA 2.0 ? Ambitious

What was the connection between Harsin and Austin Davis?

7+ Wins in 2022, the Sunbelt debut.

Football Gods look down upon Southern Miss saying “you poor bastards, lemme help out just a lil”

Not sure but guessing a connection from NW football community, Coach Peterson. Harsin is still going to call the plays so maybe the available coaching pool of OC’s that don’t actually call plays is small.
