Counting NAIA wins toward our overall record.

We're 3-4. Not 7-4.

Yeah, that irritates me. Any time I read a story or look at a site that that mentions the team's overall record, I have to try to remember how many of those wins weren't D-1.

The NCAA site where they list official RPI has a "D-1 Rec." column pretty close to the left side of the page, so I tend to go there.

The larger issue is that a D-1 school would even play so many NAIA teams. I'm not even sure that should be allowed. You should have to get a waiver or something at a minimum.

RPI has climbed to around 240, for whatever that's worth.

Re: The TTT mindset

"Why the actual heck are tickets $15 dollars for the basketball games @USMGoldenEagles? Our record setting baseball team has tickets for $10, and our basketball team is awful. No reason tickets should be $15 and concessions $7+. Another reason nobody comes."

Not saying I disagree, but if $5 makes that big of a difference in your willingness to attend a basketball game, you might want to explore the labor market a little more thoroughly.

Re: The TTT mindset

We shouldn't be raising ticket prices. The average salary of our fans is $2 and a used Ward's coupon.

Must be a Gilbert thing. He's shaking down what few fans remain engaged in an effort to up the bean count, just like he did at the football home opener. I've already posted why I think it's a stupid strategy, and done so ad nauseam.

Re: The TTT mindset

Looking like the baseball season ticket prices are up as well. $270 for chairbacks and $200 for bleacher/standing room. A 10-15% increase. Perhaps the increase is due to the opening series vs State, but probably not.

Re: The TTT mindset

"Our record-setting baseball team"

What records did we set again? Last I checked they choked like a cheap hooker from Pearl against State in our home regional.

Probably based on the demand, and maybe they figured out we were priced  under the market and leaving money on the table.

I’m still laughing at this.

A USM fan that has the Hattiesburg Regional graphic as their cover photo is like a New Yorker that has a picture of the burning towers on 9/11 as their cover photo.

God bless our fans.

Sometimes a hard-fought loss can galvanize a fan base and lead to better things. I'm thinking of that Giants game where Herman Edwards won the game for the Eagles on a defensive touchdown, when NY should have been in the victory formation, or the battle of Kosovo Polje.

The Keystone Kops / Three Stooges episode of a regional under consideration here does not fall into that category.

Re: The TTT mindset

A mediocre Mississippi State team that had half of their pitching staff out with injuries kicks our ass twice in OUR HOME REGIONAL. And our fans STILL ARE TALKING SMACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!

I can't. I just can't.

Re: The TTT mindset

We deserve every bit of shit we get when we play State in any sport. EVERY BIT. We should be getting on our knees thanking them for agreeing to play us and giving us 3 sellouts to open the season.

No wonder we're cursed every time we play them in anything. Our fans need to STFU.
