Negative Nancy says this tax bill “is the worst piece of legislation to ever reach the floor of the house”. I wonder if the 96% of their black American base would agree. Seems like a few worse pieces of legislation saw the floor before 1964. Of course the democrats voted for those.

There is no measure for the extent that this person is out of touch with reality. When I first heard her speak, I was embarrassed for the country. Now I realize there are a group of these idiots throughout the federal government. Sad, very sad.

I think a lot of people who espouse views like Nancy's are either psychologically motivated (by so-called "daddy issues") or have been duped by the media into thinking the permissive, the European, etc. are "cool." Being unpatriotic an bitter in a country as great as this one is just irrational. America has some more to elevate people- black people included- out of poverty than the rest of the world combined.

Making state and local taxes non-deductible is a very clever way for Trump et al. to stick it to the people and places who didn't vote for them.

Conservatives in NY and CA are up in arms about it, but I'm afraid it's unavoidable. If you live and pay taxes in a state the picks the upper middle class's pockets to fund Democrat handouts, that harbors illegal invaders, that tramples on the 2nd Amendment, that bans travel to innocent places like MS, etc., then your bill has now come due.

I spent some time playing with a Trump tax cut calculator (https://blog.taxact.com/tax-cut-jobs-act-calculator/). The impression I got was that the people who will benefit most are married people with a combined income of around $150,000 per year. Couldn't really find any other sort of filer who'd benefit significantly.

I'm a bit disappointed, but I also understand why Michael Savage is so pissed off about the way the plan actually turned out. People have a damned stupid definition of what "rich" is in this country. It's basically "anyone above the 50th percentile income-wise."

I guess that's just majoritarian democracy. It's legitimized theft. I work my ass off as an engineer, and make a very good salary, but I live in a one-bedroom apartment and drive an 8-year-old Subaru compact. My payroll deductions (insurance, SSI, taxes, and whatever else) easily exceed $50,000 per year, and they still will.
