Highlights of my modest collection

I picked a top 3 to show off. Nothing fancy, just some things that amuse me.

From left to right:

1. My C3P0 edition Casio terrorist watch. It's good for USM games, and it's acquired a certain hipster appeal since I bought it. Sells for $66 online now, if you can believe that.

2. Invicta Subaqua Noma III. As far as Invicta watches go (not good), this is a very popular one. Movement is an ETA G10.211, a simple Swiss quartz movement. Error is well under 1 second per month. The case is giant but also very solid. I like the screw-down crown, 1/10 second chronograph, and rotating bezel.

3. Timex Expedition. Good, attractive watch that's endured a lot of abuse.

Re: Highlights of my modest collection

I like how they're all within about 5 seconds of each other. Didn't even notice until I looked at my own picture.

Re: Highlights of my modest collection

I found my old Swatch from college days a few months ago.  I'll post pics when I get some time (gotta go dig it up again).  Cool watch for sure and accurate as well.

Some discussion of the G10.211 movement:

It's basically a throwaway machine, but a good one.

Throw away are the damned Michael Kors garbage that people pay as much as $400 for and don't realize it's a $1 Chinese quartz piece of shit!!!

The movement is throwaway in that you probably don't want to try to replace individual parts. That said, you almost certainly won't need to fix it anyway, and it's a very accurate Swiss movement.

Fairly confident this jewel from 83 is still hiding in a drawer at my parents house....

Saw the one on the left (gold Casio) selling for $65 at Dillard's today. It's part of some "Casio Retro" collection. No way I paid anything like $65 for that watch!
