Re: ESPN president resigns with "substance abuse" problem

I've seen some speculation hinting at a potential blackmail scenario, i.e. "quit and we'll pretend you self-reported; refuse to quit and we'll fire you conspicuously for cause."

I'm not sure how convincing that is. He signed a contract extension just over a month ago. That would have been the time to get rid of him, right?

It was stated earlier on ESPN that we are only experiencing the outer bands of the storm that is just starting to hit the sports industry. For the Carolina Panthers owner to just throw in the towel that quickly means some serious fire exists in Charlotte that could have a wider impact on the NFL. Good lawd, if they ever get someone to come forward against Jerry Jones the impact will be felt across the NFL, advertisers, television contracts, etc....you know the crap in the pic below is one of probably hundreds just waiting to bust open against the owner of the most lucrative franchise in sports......

ESPN is just beginning to face the music. Only the power of the mighty mouse can save them from themselves as the storm gets closer to landfall.

This is great news!!  As for the others, those two whore-bags in the pics with Jerry know exactly what they are/were doing...and that shit is a two-way street.  I'm almost over all this "me too" bullshit but not until it knocks out a few more Establishment shitbags.

More is coming out about this. Skipper was an occasional (?) cocaine user who was the target of a dealer's extortion attempt. Rather than paying off the dealer, or allowing him to release the information he had, Skipper arguably took the high road and went to his employer and confessed the whole thing.

Explains why he was having beers with a friend a few days after his resignation, instead of in rehab.

I feel like this guy should still have his job. He wasn't doing back surgeries or flying a jet, he was running a media company. Let him have his fun, FFS.
