Doc Sadler has been given an extension...

He has a record of 36-81 at USM.  Yes, I realize his hands were tied some due to NCAA punishments... but... an extension?... really?

The Golden Eagles recently completed Year 4 under Sadler, finishing 16-17

It is the right move today. We have no cash. Factor in what he took over, the facility he has to play in, the lack of support for the program, etc...
Get the burger tax approved, let Doc get some size on our team and play with a full compliment of scholarships not to mention allow him to recruit kids with a three year contract in place and if he doesn’t break 18+ next season including .500 in conference you don’t extend him.

The play for this program isn’t for another 24 months. When we break ground on a new arena that’s when you start establishing your new identity and investing in the program. Doc is simply a coat of wax on a 1999 Honda Civic. I just need it to last two-three more years before I get my 2017 Nissan Maxima.....lord knows we aren’t going all in on something with German engineering with our new arena......

I was really afraid McGilbannini would just let Doc's contract run out and get someone cheaper. This announcement is a close as he'll ever get to being truly ambitious for USM athletics.

Extensions generally look better than a traditional hairpiece, but require more upkeep.
