Nick Suss Facebook interactive video

It was mentioned elsewhere, but I thought it was good so I'll give it a thread:

Some highlights:

-Defense dominated the recent scrimmage.

-Juco transfer S Kyle Hemby has NFL potential per Hopson. Good news for a relatively new defensive backfield- no returning player had an INT last year.

-LB crew is deep and talented.

-Abraham has not run away with the QB job. Rodriguez is definitely in the mix. Neil McLaurin has been getting QB reps, as a read option / wildcat type option. It will probably be a platoon approach at QB, at first at least.

-Tyree Evans is involved at a lot of tackles at MLB. Suss gets a little philosophical about the MLB position... is he the backbone of your defense or just a guy who falls on piles?

-Griggs' status is "pending academic review" and he can "appeal." There's no statement about what he's appealing or to whom. Presumably the institutional discipline process has an appeal mechanism, as does the NCAA.

-The receiver corps is mostly new but fast and big. DeMichael Harris is perhaps the fastest receiver but he's not completely healthy.

If Jay does that QB carousel crap again this year it will be a disaster. You pick your QB. You ride him as far as he will take you. Then you make a change if he doesn't do the job.

You face what was a top 20 defense nationally last year in practice each day.....
You open against a horrid defense in JSU....
You then face the #128 defense in game 2, the #29 defense in game 3 and then the #89 defense to open conference play.....
Factor in the new redshirt rule that allows Tate to play up to 4 games a year without losing his red shirt....

Why not use the first part of the season to let the best man be decided in live game competition? Let them all have reps in season. I have zero issues if Neil gets the ball in short yardage situations and I would love to see what Tate has to offer against a ULM or Rice since it doesn't cost us a shirt.

I think Sussy doesn't know what the phuc he's talking about with QB rotation.  30 days ago, this dude didn't know who the mascot was and probably still doesn't know who OB was.  I'll give him a while to learn about the place before I go losing any sleep or getting amped up from his musings.

The dude flat out admitted he's good at sounding like he knows what he talks about even when he doesn't.

I actually like him so far. He's mostly entertainment at this point, but he has given more info out about Griggs' suspension than anyone else has.

I can dig that up to a point.....that's what practice and scrimmages are for......

however, the quick hook should be applied in g1 if req'd to test the waters.....that 'should' be a freebie (but let's not forget what almost happened vs alcorn in Monk's 2nd season....)

if you want a platoon system, that should've  already been developed by now.....

I have yet to see the university or Hop make a statement......that's fucked up at this point in my book

Anyone else notice that Hop hasn’t been talking about the Cuban as much lately? Could be just the sound bites that Suss shares but the last few practices it’s been Jack and a few more Tate updates.
