Bought one of these today for my father-in-law. It's a nice, simple, quartz Swiss watch- very understated in appearance. Figured I'd set it before I gave it to him. Lo and behold, the damn thing wont start up. Pulled the crown in and out a few times without any luck. Glad I checked it out before I gave it to him.
This kind of amazes me. Granted, Tissot is at the low end of Swiss watches, but how hard is it to make a quartz watch that works out of the box?
Maybe there's some trick I'm missing, but it really seems that (at best) this thing was sold to me with a dead battery.
