Holiday Movies

Worst time of the year as every Hallmark type holiday movie with actors that never made it but you may recognize them from a fast food commercial or random tv episode hit your televisions sets with a furor......

Now Netflix is in the holiday movie business and has released what I will label as watchable......The Christmas Chronicles. They brought in Chris Columbus to produce which gives it some immediate credibility. He's the guy behind Gremlins, Goonies, Home Alone movies, Harry Potters, Night at the Museums and a 1984 movie with a great soundtrack called Reckless. Throw in Kurt Russell as Santa and you now have something that is watchable. It was easy to see the Columbus movie easter eggs throughout the film. One sequence is a clear reenactment of the Elizabeth Shue career rocket Adventures in Babysitting that launched her career. Since that was a Columbus flick as well he had no problem stealing from his own movie. You can even see Gizmo's face from Gremlins on some of the elves. A nice little music piece/cameo from E Streets Steve Van Zandt. Worth it if you have already viewed Christmas Vacation, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Office Christmas Party, or any other annual Christmas classics.....

Re: Holiday Movies

My favorite is George C. Scott as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Watch it 2 weeks ahead so you'll have adequate time to react.
