2020 Ford Bronco

Ford recently hosted its annual dealer conference and one of the new vehicles unveiled with a late 2019 release target is the 2020 Ford Bronco. Made to compete with the Wrangler, it will actually have two versions, a full size edition(still small) and one currently referred to as the Baby Bronco, built to compete with the Jeep Renegade. Not much has leaked on either edition minus some photos of the baby Bronco from the dealer conference.

No specifics confirmed but here is what they are saying.....

Bronco will be on the same platform of the new Ranger, being built at the same Michigan plant
Smaller than last Bronco released. It has been labeled as a Global platform vehicle which is why its going to be a smaller vehicle since Europe and China only embrace smaller vehicles.
Smaller engines, no V8. Possible 3.0 Diesel and 2.3 V4 ECO Boost
Only automatic transmission

I think the public was looking for something bigger but its not the case. Here are a few photos of the Baby Bronco from the dealer conference....

Disappointing in my opinion. These are a couple of the early concept images everyone was hoping for when it was first announced when it was believed to be built on the F150 platform.....

This is a Bronco.  None of those are appealing at all.

Ford has nothing like that in its truck lineup. They need to keep it simple but that is never the case.

Ford, having realized that they screwed up in the market for passenger sedans, will now screw up in the market for light-duty trucks. They'll do it with try-hard plastic cladding worthy of a 2001 Pontiac, wheezing turbochargers, and marketing campaigns involving men with ridiculous beards. I've bought more than one brand new Ford before, but I can't imagine it happening again.
