Re: Music selection

32 yrs. ago, GNR opened for these guys at the Saenger in NOLA....I was there when they were tossing out their vinyl like frisbees before the show...the encore consisted of GNR in toga riding on the shoulders of the Cult members....that was one helluva show...

Was over at a friend's house earlier and he had it on. It generally takes me a while to digest stuff like this and decide if it's something I'll listen to more than once, but my first impression was pretty damn positive.

Re: Music selection

I usually don't get into sampled songs, but this is badass....how he takes the groove from NIN's 34 Ghosts IV and spins it to fit his style is impressive...I'm clueless how he decided to collaborate with Billy Ray....regardless, it works...

Re: Music selection

So 29 years ago yesterday.........Stevie Ray Vaughan and members of Eric Clapton's touring entourage played an all-star encore jam session at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Alpine Valley Resort in East Troy, Wisconsin. Afterwards they took off for Midway International Airport in Chicago in a Bell 206B helicopter, the most common way for acts to enter and exit the venue as there is only one road in and out, which is heavily used by fans. The helicopter crashed into a nearby ski hill shortly after takeoff.

Vaughan and the four others on board – pilot Jeff Brown, agent Bobby Brooks, bodyguard Nigel Browne, and tour manager Colin Smythe – were all killed. The helicopter was identified as being owned by Chicago-based company Omniflight Helicopters. Initial reports of the crash inaccurately claimed that Clapton had also been killed in the accident.

This man is still a local legend here in his hometown of Dallas. RIP SRV......

Re: Music selection

I remember this performance on Letterman back in the mid 80's. He was a former NYPD cop who left the force to move out west and make music for a living. He had a few decent hits and also one heck of a Geico commercial about 7 years ago. He cashed in one of his two tickets to paradise earlier today. RIP Eddie.....

Re: Music selection

Man if things really do happen in threes I don't want to know who is on deck this week......Had no idea that the bassist of the Cars passed on about 20 years ago. Yesterday Ric Ocasek moved on from this world. Dude looked 75 back in 85.....but that didnt stop him from landing Paulina Porizkova.

RIP, Ric
