Les Koenning fired

Coach Koenning  was a position coach at USM before joining Les Miles at Kansas as OC.

Things have been pretty uneven this season for the Jayhawks, but this still seems a little odd. Could be one of those things that goes behind on- the- field performance.

Re: Les Koenning fired

I was always shocked how he got the job after Chip jumped ship for Troy especially as bad as our running game finished in 2018. 4 schools in 5 years is a tough life to live in any profession.......

They have been struggling offensively all year except for a big win at BC .... their best rb, Herbert (sp?) is using the 4 game rule thingy and will transfer somewhere else next year and he is no longer with the team.

Rumors are another rb is considering a transfer as well.

Miles had hired Chip Lindsey but he was only there 3-4 weeks before taking the Troy job.  Apparently, some players really liked Lindsey, Koenning, not so much.

Looks like others questioned the Koenning hire as well.

At least we are known by other programs .....(for how bad the offense was)

Like the reverend Jackie Sherrill used to say, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

"Dearmon seems to be well known and liked around CFB
this move probably makes it more likely that he stays in Lawrence (assuming he finds some success). Otherwise he may have been snatched up and promoted by another program. Considering Koenning was RBs coach at Southern Miss before he was hired, and the offense has sucked, I’m 100% in favor of this
