That is just the definition of irrelevance.

We deserved nothing and got better than Bahamas and New Mex. and an interesting opponent.

I'm glad it's not New Orleans. Too many tater-totters have a hard on for that bowel.

Tulane hasn’t won a game since Halloween. They lost 5 out of their last 6. No Quez, no Jaylond. Who knows who else is done. You lose this game to the 7th place team in the AAC by two touchdowns you will do wonders for 2020 ticket packages........

No, this game will be lost by a coach that values cliches over game tape.

I don't think he's seen the field for them.

"Immersed in his studies," I imagine.

Re: Armed Forces Bowl in Ft Worth v Tulane

I posted this on the facepage site earlier today... I'll do it here too for more smarter discussions.

This is an interesting match up. Extra practice, etc. is always a great thing. I like playing an old foe like Tulane. I just don't really see the upside to the match up. If we win, us fans will look at it like we expected to win and should win. We dominated Tulare for years, and we expect to still do so. I don't think it really impacts perception in any way…… But, if we lose. Now, the rose glasses will have to come off for those still in denial. Including USM staff. Fan support will fall even further behind.

After typing that, maybe a loss to Tulane is the best way to wake up this apathetic program.

If we lose to the 7th place AAC team that has lost 5 of 6 it only confirms what everyone already knows.....

Tulane will be at least a 6 point favorite. Still, this is about as winnable a game as Hop could have hoped for.

Re: Armed Forces Bowl in Ft Worth v Tulane

AAC perspective Tulane has improved greatly and should win against a Southern Miss team with no identity.  A win here will help some supporting the roar we’re playing down to our competition in CUSA.

For me I see two ole foes with an opportunity to relive memories.  Should be interesting. The bowl and game time
Absolutely suck

Re: Armed Forces Bowl in Ft Worth v Tulane

Who knows how these bids play out but if Jeremy worked this out he did a great job minus the breakfast kickoff. Only game on that day, winnable, former conference rival, not Montgomery or New Mexico.....why Frisco swapped with Ft Worth for Utah St and Kent St who knows..... New Orleans would have been ugly even if their one and done coach is gone. Indy against Miami was best “name” opponent but zero chance La Tech wasn’t getting Indy this season.
I imagine the formalities of Quez and Jaylond will surface shortly. Probably a few more skeletons will be discovered before it’s done. Wouldn’t be shocked to see Lane pluck a few of our coaches for in state recruitment like Scotty. Lots will happen before our first game in 2020.

Re: Armed Forces Bowl in Ft Worth v Tulane

Hope you're right NG because a lot NEEDS to happen... What you're saying and what I'm thinking may, or may not, be very different, but an awful lot of changes need to happen to get this program back on track. Hopefully the 1mil budget increase will help this next year.

Re: Armed Forces Bowl in Ft Worth v Tulane

Jack's lead us to win one (1) game against a D1 team with a non-losing record and that was because their starting QB did not play? Pretty simple math, boys.

Re: Armed Forces Bowl in Ft Worth v Tulane

And it opens at Tulane -7.

Touchdown underdog to a Tulane team that will have gone 2+ months without a win. Damn.
