The Messiah stays home with the flu and we finally win one. Where will the statue be erected?

I got my, “thank you” for allowing us to kick you in the acorns for another year Eagle Club letter yesterday. It said EC raised 2 million towards covering scholarships in 2019. Apparently our student athletes have a scholy cost of 6 million each year. They asked me to reach out to everyone and ask them to help cover the deficit.

Should I put you down as a maybe?

Re: Basketball La Tech

If they are scholarships then there is no charge, right? And if there is no charge what are we really paying for? If there was a charge to pay for then we'd only have 2 mil. worth of scholarship athletes? Considering the shenanigans of the alumni assoc. and that silly stage thing (a headstone for our football grave) I'm not sure I trust these bungholios.

We still suck bigtime.
There's a big difference between optimism and an altered state of reality.
Not another dime, not another mile, not another minute.

Re: Basketball La Tech

Scholarships are generally funded by some foundation that pays the University. For a lot of scholarships, it's the USM Foundation.

If the Athletic Foundation can't cover the whole bill for Athletic scholarships, then *maybe* the Athletic Department has to cover the rest,  but I'm skeptical that this is actually happening.
