It takes a big man to admit when he is wrong……I was off when I said Berry would go 1-2 in the regional this year. I forgot that this is a “young team” that “overachieved”  and that it’s “next year” when we will be loaded and have a really good recruiting class coming in……

So you have one regional win in your first two years coming off a World Series appearance and that’s against Jacksonville State

You then proceed to go the next 4 years without making the tournament

You then go the next 5 years to the dance but have a record of 6-11. Your wins come against UIC, AZ St, South Alabama, Dallas Baptist. You also have elimination loses against South Alabama and Dallas Baptist.

So in 10 seasons you have exactly 2 wins against a power conference program in regional play. We have paid almost 2 million in salary to go 2-11 against power 5 schools in regional play. Schools like Creighton, Jacksonville State and Dallas Baptist have as many if not more power 5 regional wins than USM over the past 5 years.

Is this what you would have signed up for over the next 11 seasons when you hired Berry?

This was the first time I saw this team play this year. Started watching in the 2nd or 3rd inning. Watched our 1 and 2 hole hitters get back to back singles and then the 3, 4, 5 hole guys strike out to leave them at 1st and 2nd. That summed it all up for me. At least put the ball in play. A dumper single over second or short scores a run. The last thing you can do is strike out in that situation. Shorten up and do your job. Pitiful.
