...I wasn't trying to buy a new Rolex over the weekend! I was in Minneapolis for the past few days on business and toured the Mall of America...it's a pretty impressive place. Of course, we looked up the fine jeweler that carried nice timepieces. The Breitling selection was 1st class and well stocked as was the Tag Hauers. While these guys had a large Rolex area, it was half-empty but still had a good selection from the top to the bottom of the line. The guy told me they sell on average of one Rolex per day which is super impressive.
I saw one of my "dream" watches on hand (https://www.rolex.com/watches/sky-dwell … -0003.html) and he immediately tossed out a $5K discount offering to me! While tempting, I am in no position to drop $35K on a damn watch right now!! Furthermore, I prefer the Oyster bracelet to the leather that was on it. The white-gold Sky Dweller with Oyster bracelet goes about $48K as opposed to the list on this one of $40K.
It's nice to know these boys negotiate. If I ever get rich, I'll pay him another visit (or place the phone call) and further save the 7% sales tax!
We were very impressed by the Breitling Avenger Hurricane 45 with the polymer Breitlite case (https://www.breitling.com/en/models/ave … ricane-45/) in person. Take a minute to read up on this badass timepiece!! It was incredibly light...like grams not ounces.
And me drooling over the Sky Dweller in my hand...just before I turned down the offer and handed it back: Note the hand in the silk glove worn by the sales rep when showing any Rolex directly behind the watch
Still sleeping with a Dixie Darling!
