Football not recruiting Louisiana?

NOLA.com has published their list of the top 50 prospects in Louisiana. Most of them have committed to a college, but there's not one USM signee. I saw a couple of Memphis commitments, a couple for Tulane, and at least one for LA Tech. There's even a guy going to UTSA.

I don't get it. Did USM even go after any of these players?

So far.  I think one of the Florida kids (Carswell) falls out before the Feb signing day due to grades just as Bedell (MS) did last week. I like to see us get Carswell but there's a reason UF got off him so quick. He is a physical beast however and his size on the D line would be huge. We're after a LA kid on the D line but it's between USM and Oregon State.  I'm hoping he's a momma's boy because Slidell to Hattiesburg is a shorter drive than Corvallis, OR!

All three LA kids are 3* athletes as well.
