We still suck bigtime.
There's a big difference between optimism and an altered state of reality.
Not another dime, not another mile, not another minute.

Re: Music selection

Got this cd my senior year of high school because they did the first excellent cover of Mrs Robinson.... Little did I know how much this whole album, and The Lemonheads, would mean to me!

Re: Music selection

There are several solid choices for Jack:  Goodbye To You - Patty Smyth, Never Say Goodbye - Bon Jovi, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton, Alma Mater - Alice Cooper. What's that? Ok, I like that one too. So shall it be.

Re: Music selection

Continuing the amplifier discussion here, I'll show off a recent purchase of my own in the "cheap thrills" and "nostalgia" categories:

IMG-20190728-WA0006.jpg

The Tripath 2020 was the first digital (a.k.a. Class D) full-spectrum amp that anyone with an ear ever wanted to listen to. It was named one of "25 Microchips That Shook The World" by IEEE (https://spectrum.ieee.org/tech-history/ … -the-world).

Tripath went into reorganization a few years ago, and the 2020 family is no longer being produced. Texas Instruments among others is offering some very credible alternatives, but they do not (and this based on many early morning chemically-augmented sessions of my own) offer quite the same warm, detailed sound of the Tripath. The 2020 does not in any way sound digital in a bad way, and yet somehow it totally does in all the good ways.

The last Tripath 2020s are trickling into the marketplace now. If you've never heard one, or don't own one, I'd suggest buying one. They aren't as cheap as they were when they were changing the world, but they're still worth it.
