Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) attendance

Sounds a lot like what's going on at USM.

Re: Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) attendance

Seems very misguided to me, and the fact that it was developed by the guy who couldn't make the NHL work in Atlanta only reinforces this opinion. The Atlanta sports market is all about oddball, flash-in-the-pan crap. Look how well soccer has done here.

Game day attendance isn't about making money. Truly successful sports properties will make their money off of TV going forward.

The model is this: you get as many people as possible into the arena or stadium on game day because these are people who'll want to see you on TV later on.

Atlanta Gladiators. Owner suggested things to a former USM AD that ignored him. He does a great job with minor league hockey.

Don’t get me wrong. I get your posts on major league sports.

that's correct.....

the price of a hockey ticket ain' cheap either.....

to further prove the tv side of the equation during the regular season, the nhl network is running free now on comshite until the all star break.....then you get the rest of the season for a mere 110.99 (or whatever the silly dollar amt is)....

wait until the playoffs.......you won't find an empty seat.....playoff hockey is as good as it gets.....

lmao at rednecks jerking jaw about hockey.......

I watch and bet games every single night...toss in MLB, and it turns into no frill, no kneeling, no political horseshit......

over the last decade, hockey's never historically been more fun to watch with the combination of tech, speed, and how they now move the puck and change lines......

There is no rival in sports to playoff hockey. Nothing is even close.

Watched some mixed doubles Olympic trials curling last night.

No idea about the rules or scoring but was very interesting.
