welcome to the world of meaningless statistics.

we had jeff boewer for a century.  hair guy had to get some slack for totally changing the offensive philosophy.  after gel, we got nuked by the EJ infection.  Monk worked his ass off to fix that.  Hop inherited a very, very good team.  he's been pretty mediocre.

so, as far as modern history goes, that's a pretty empty statement.

Yep. But, you also have to figure in that previous coaches haven't had to deal with all of these startup programs that we have to compete against for recruits nowadays.

Agreed. I said something along those lines during the game: "Hopson lets score and record mislead him sometimes. You have to look deeper than that."

Hopson is mediocre. No doubt. But we're paying him 500k. That's the lowest paid in CUSA and one of the lowest in FBS. You get what you pay for, period.

People expecting 11-1 and wins over P5 programs every year aren't being realistic. 1997 was a long time ago and it isn't coming back.

in my lifetime, the number of D1 programs has grown by +30% (over a 40 yr period)

numbers......they can be become a 'bitch' when they're in 'heat'
