Hey.....this is kind of insulting.......

To ULM.......

Free Shoes U canceled the ULM game earlier this year with no make up date due to Irma.......they opted to not reschedule

Now, sitting at 3-5, their consecutive bowl bid streak is in jeopardy (dating back to 1981), FSU has changed direction today and scheduled ULM for the weekend of the conference championship games....

FSU currently has games left against Clemson, Florida, Delaware and now ULM

I will be cheering on ULM that last game of the year

I've been surprised by all the scheduling happening during the season. Georgia Tech might be adding a game.

Just one more example of how the inmates are running the asylum.

ULM is in perfect position to negotiate a home and home. But will/did they?

Maybe they just settled for a big pile of money.

I think you know better. They probably agreed to the previous terms + a small inconvenience fee. They did the same thing USM would have done.

Re: Hey.....this is kind of insulting.......

Hopefully they were smart enough to bend FSU over a barrel seeing as how FSU fully intended on fucking them out of their little payday back when they didn't think they needed them.  I'm sure FSU came calling with incentives to keep everything friendly.  They need a bowl game and whatever it takes to get there in order to keep their streak alive.  It's actually a good recruiting tool that not even Bama can say.

How much leverage did they really have, though? ULM isn't the only mediocre team with an opening that week.

ULM needs the extra game just as much as FSU for a shot at bowl eligibility as well as for brand awareness for recruiting purposes. They need two wins and prior to rescheduling FSU they only had Auburn and Arky St left. They had no leverage.

All the leverage is in the ULM's court here.  They are irrelevant in the grand scheme of things yet FSU has a pretty cool streak riding on this.  The leverage position is not even close from a business standpoint.  If ULM doesn't see it, they are fooling themselves horribly.

How many of those teams with open weeks already have 12 games scheduled?

None of them are eligible.

All FSU has to do is look inside its own conference and schedule Georgia Tech. Both need the extra game, they didn't play each other this season, and it has zero impact on the ACC title game since both schools are already eliminated. If that doesn't work, call UCONN.....UTSA.....Houston.....plenty of options available.

All you have to do is swap "ULM" with "USM" and consider.  There are plenty of reasons you would LOVE to make up that cancelled game. And FSJ has quite a bit to offer in future scheduling considerations.

Re: Hey.....this is kind of insulting.......

FIU even went so far as to schedule a tentative game with UMASS for 12/2 in the event they don't make it to the CUSA Championship game. FSU can even pick up the Minutemen if Lane loses to Butch next weekend.
