Louisiana Tech is certainly a peer program at this point, but I wouldn't go as far as to call them a rival. Our rivals were Memphis, ECU, and Tulane.

I agree.  But funny enough, I didn't really consider any of those teams "rivalries" until they left the conference.  Then I realized what we had lost.

Rivalry is in the eye of the beholder. Seriously. Some folks consider ECU our rival...strange at this point. Some say Tulane. Some still consider Ole Miss a rival, even though we haven't played in decades.

Consider this. Folks from Ole Miss like to pretend that LSU is more of a rival than MSU. But LSU fans consider Alabama more of a rival, while Alabama fans consider Auburn their rival...but not UAB.

If you wanna call someone a rival, have at it. But what really sucks is to have rivals, but no rivalry games. Which brings us back to La Tech.
